Vending as a second income
With the economy in a down turn and the price of everything going up, everyone is feeling the money pinch. Even folks who still have a steady job are looking around for more income.
If you’re looking for a stress free second income with unlimited potential the vending machine business may be just the right answer. For more than a 100 years bulk vending has been a source of income for people who like to make their own rules.
Actually bulk vending was popular in Europe years before it caught on in the United States . The first commercial coin operated machines here were placed on the subway platforms in New York and stocked with Tutti Frutti gum. It wasn’t until 1907 that the round candy coated gumballs were introduced to vending machines.
Today vending machines are found everywhere, and there are an enormous variety of items to put in the machines, all at reasonable prices. You can choose from tattoos, stickers, sodas, gumballs, toys, snacks, and chocolates, just to name a few.
Bulk vending is one of the least expensive and easiest small businesses to start up, and
there are numerous advantages to starting this kind of business. The gross margins can be quite high, the machines are generally inexpensive, the price of the vend can be changed easily, there are a large variety of machines and products, everything is portable and easy to service, and the big advantage is that you pick the hours you work and how many. In other words you are your own boss.
As with any business you’ll need to do your homework. Researching locations for the most possible foot traffic, and planning which products will do best where is a big part of your homework. Then contacting the business owners on having your machines in their establishments is most important. And finally deciding which machines and which products you want to vend.
Nowadays there’s an enormous variety of vending machines to choose from. If you want to go high tech there are flashy machines called Whirlers , and there are machines with anywhere between 1 and 10 heads so you can vend a variety of products in the same location. Or you might be attracted to the interactive game machines and Crane machines that are appealing to every age. Plus some machines are free standing while others sit on a counter top.
You can see the wide selection of machines at candymachines.com . While you’re there be sure to check out their business vending packages.
